Now that the official Service Pack 1 RC for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 is available to download, many of you might be planning to download and install the same. But before proceeding to the official download page, make sure you read the following important points about the SP1 RC.

# You need to uninstall SP1 beta before installing the Release Candidate

# Download size is 514.7 MB (x86) and 865.4 MB (x64)

# The RC will expire on November 30, 2011. You will be reminded beginning August 30, 2011.

# You can’t upgrade from the RC build to the final build of SP1.

# Adds watermark at the bottom right of the desktop

# Includes hundreds of hotfixes and security updates

# Service Pack 1 final will be released within the first half of calendar year 2011

    Will the service pack for windows 7 include the fix for netlogin event 5719 where the network drives sometimes don’t get mapped at startup?
