It’s been a while since we talked about a good free utility for Windows 7 Taskbar. In the past, we covered a number of free tools to tweak the various aspects of Taskbar. We have also listed the best free tools to tweak and customize the Taskbar in Windows 7.
Aero WinShark is another free utility to tweak and personalize the Taskbar and thumbnail preview. The best thing about this software is that it supports both Windows 7 and the latest Windows 8 as well. Options are available to set minimum thumbnail size, maximum thumbnail size, top thumbnail margin, bottom margin, left margin, right margin, and taskbar item width.
It also offers settings to change the wait time before the taskbar preview is displayed, and to disable/enable Taskbar thumbnail preview.
If you are trying to change the Taskbar item width, you may need to do a system reboot to apply the change. All other settings can be applied without a reboot.
Aero WinShark is a portable utility, which means that it can be used without an installation. This tool was originally developed for Windows 7, but it works great on Windows 8 as well. We tested this on x64 version of Windows 8 without any issues.
Restore Default option is also available to restore all settings to the default.
