Google Chrome 4.1 Beta & Opera 10.50 Final Available Now

Opera finally released the final version of Opera 10.50 browser just a few minutes back. At the same time, Google has also released the 4.1 beta with a few new features taken from its upcoming Chrome 5.0 version.

As may know, Opera 10.50 comes with Aero Glass effect for Windows 7 and Vista operating systems. It also supports Windows 7’s features such as Aero Peek, and Jump List.

On the other side, Google has added two new features to the Chrome 4.1 version: Automatic translation of web pages, and More content settings to protect your privacy.

How To Install/Uninstall Extensions In Google Chrome Browser

As we reported earlier this morning, Google has launched Chrome Extensions Gallery with 340+ extensions. If you have been using the Google Chrome browser, you might be interested in installing some cool and handy extensions to help at your work.

Here is how you can install an extension in Google Chrome browser:

1. Launch Google Chrome browser.

2. Go to Tools menu and then click Extensions.

3. You will see Extensions page. Click on browse the gallery link to visit the official Google Chrome Extensions Gallery page.

4. Click on the extension name to view the full details about the extension and also to see the install button.

5. Click the install button to see the confirmation box. Again, click install button to start installing the extension.

To uninstall an extension:

1. Again, go to Tools menu and select Extensions.

2. On the extensions page, click uninstall button next to the extension’s name to uninstall the particular extension.

3. Again, click uninstall button once you see the confirmation box.

How To Sync Your Google Chrome Bookmarks Across Computers

As we reported earlier, Google has released Google Chrome 4.0 Beta and is available to download. The latest version of the browser features Bookmarks Sync feature.

Bookmark Sync feature makes it easy to keep the same set of bookmarks on multiple computers. When you enable sync, your bookmarks will get stored online in your Google Account (of course, you need to have a Google (Gmail) account). Each additional computer on which you enable sync will receive the same bookmarks.

If you have installed Google Chrome 4.0, here is how you can sync your bookmarks between your computers.

1. Run Google Chrome browser.

2. Click on the wrench menu and select Synchronize my bookmarks option.

3. Enter your Google (Gmail) Email ID and password. Click Sign in button to start synchronizing bookmarks.

4. Wait for a few seconds to see the success message.

5. Now your bookmarks are stored in your Google account.

To access these bookmarks on other machine:

1. Run Google Chrome browser.

2. Click on the wrench menu and select Synchronize my bookmarks option.

3. Enter your Google (Gmail) email ID and password.

4. You will be asked to confirm that your different sets of bookmarks should be merged together. Click Merge and sync to finish the syncing process.

5. You are done!

Google has made available the 4.0 beta version of its forthcoming Chrome browser for download.

Google Chrome 4.0 beta, which is fully compatible with Windows 7, features several improvements and features such as bookmark synchronization.

The official Chrome blog notes that you can keep your Google Chrome bookmarks synchronized and up-to-date across the multiple computers you use, without needing to manually recreate your bookmarks every time you use a different computer.

View Google Chrome Cache With ChromeCacheView

Like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and other browsers even the Google Chrome too stores all the temporary contents in a folder named Cache. Generally Chrome’s Cache folder can be found in [User Profile]\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default.

Since you need to dig into to several folders to view all the contents in the Cache folder, here is a portable utility that displays Cache contents with a click. With ChromeCacheView one can view file name, URL, content type, file size, last accessed time, expiration time, server name, server response, and more.

As this is a standalone utility, it doesn’t require any installation to getting started.

There are options to copy selected cache files to another directory, save the selected files in ChromeCacheView. If you have installed Google Chrome browser, then this is a handy utility for you.

Google has released a new plug-in named Google Chrome Frame that brings HTML5 and other new technologies to IE6, IE 7, and IE 8.
