Download Google Chrome 8.0.552.215 Stable Now
Posted December 3, 2010 – 8:12 am in: Google ChromeLess than a month after the release of Chrome 8 beta, Google has pushed the Chrome 8.0.552.215 to the stable channel, and is ready to download now. Google Chrome 8 comes with stability improvements, security fixes, over 800 bug fixes and a built-in PDF viewer.
To update to the latest version, navigate to Wrench menu and then click About Google Chrome option. Google is yet to release the Chrome 9 beta build. Early adopters can download and test the Google Chrome 9 dev channel build 9.0.597.0.

it seems google chrome auto update is good enough to keep my installation up-to-date, as when I tried to update after reading this post, I find I already have the latest version installed..
