Good news for Opera fans. With the impeding competition Opera has released the first beta version of its upcoming Opera 10. Along with a fresh look and feel, Opera 10 beta comes with a bunch of new features. The newest version of the Opera sports enhanced speed and performance.

According to Opera site, the newest version is as much as 40% faster than Opera 9.6, which could be enough to win it some fans.

Key things to know:

Opera Turbo: The much talked Opera Turbo easily delivers 3x to 4x the speed of slower connections and can offer broadband-like speeds on dial-up.

Fresh Interface: The new version of Opera sports a fresh user interface now.

Resizable Tabs: Yes, the tab bar is now resizable. Double-click on the handle to reveal full thumbnails of all the open tabs.

Customizable Speed Dial: The famous Opera Speed Dial completely customizable now.

Application Integration: In Opera 10, you can now easily choose to use a variety of Web-mail providers, online feed readers or other BitTorrent clients as your default choice.
