WinReducer was the first tool released to customize and tweak the setup of Windows 8 operating system. The Windows setup customization software was later updated to add support for Windows 8.1. For the uninitiated, with WinReducer you can integrate drivers and updates, include new themes and wallpapers, and remove components from Windows setup.
WinReducer for Windows 10
The developer behind WinReducer has just released WinReducer 10 for Windows 10 operating system and is now ready for download. WinReducer 10, just like its predecessors, is designed to customize the setup of Windows by integrating drivers, updates, and removing Windows features.
Even though WinReducer requires 7-Zip, Resource Hacker and some other files, the good thing is that you don’t need to manually download and install them. Upon launching WinReducer for the first time, it will automatically scan for required software and files before downloading and installing them.
Please note that the current version of WinReducer 10 is in Beta stage, meaning you might experience issues while using the software. Having said that, the developer is regularly updating the software to add new features and address reported issues.
It’s worth noting that WinReducer 10 isn’t compatible with Windows 8.1 or Windows 8. You must have installed Windows 10 on your PC in order to run WinReducer 10. When you try to launch WinReducer 10 on your Windows 8/8.1 PC, you get “Your operating system is not compatible with WinReducer 10.0” error.
The only downside of this limitation is that you can’t customize Windows 10 setup ISO on a Windows 8/8.1 PC. That is, you need a Windows 10 machine in order to run WinReducer 10 and customize the setup.
