Edit Windows/Office Places Bar With Melloware Places Bar Editor
Posted July 7, 2009 – 12:43 pm in: FreewareHaving frequently used folders (or favorite folders) in Places Bar is very essential as it helps you to be more productive. Needless to say that Places Bar is also known as save/open dialog box. Earlier, Into Windows has reviewed a small, free Places Bar editor called Shell Places Bar editor.
Although power users can edit the default Places Bar through Windows Registry or Group Policy Editor, novice users would like to modify it using an application. This time we have a free Places Bar editor named Melloware Places Bar Editor.
This utility comes with a decent user interface. Once you download and install the program, just launch the program to start customizing Windows/Office Places Bar. You can switch between Windows and Office mode easily by switching tabs.
In Windows section, select the box named “Custom” to use custom folders in your open/save dialog box. Under Office section you can add five more custom places to the default places bar that shows only five places.
You can use the test button to preview the changes before applying the new settings. Also the “Default” button lets you revert to the default Windows Places Bar settings with a click.
