As you know, there is no “Search” Option in the Start Menu of Windows Vista SP1. If you want to restore this search option, follow these easy steps.
To Enable Search:
1.Open Windows Registry Editor by “regedit”(without quotes) in Start Menu Search box.
2.Click “Continue” button for the UAC prompt.
3.Navigate to the following key in the Windows Registry Editor:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\find
4.In the right side pane, locate “LegacyDisable” and just delete it.
5.Click “Yes” for the confirmation message.
6.Close the Registry Editor and reboot the system.

To Disable Search:
1.Open Windows Registry Editor by “regedit”(without quotes) in Start Menu Search box.
2.Click “Continue” button for the UAC prompt.
3.Navigate to the following key in the Windows Registry Editor:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\find
4.In the right side pane, create a new string Value and name it as “LegacyDisable”(without quotes).
5.Close the Registry Editor and reboot the system.
6.Enjoy!!

No search? I’m running Vista Business SP1, when I click Start the “Start Search” is right there in the lower left corner.

Can you clarify or add before/after screenshots to specify what this changes?

Thanks for asking your doubt..I didn’t mean “Start Search” option in the Start menu..It will enable or disable Search option in the Start menu tab..Like there was an option called “Search” in start menu like “control panel” , “Games” and “Computer”..I hope you got my point..If you wish I will add a screenshot..
