Fix: Installation Was Not Successful When Installing Windows 7 SP1

If you get Installation was not successful error message while installing the service pack, here are the steps that might solve the issue:
Method 1:
# Download and run System Update Readiness Tool. The System Update Readiness Tool can help fix problems that might prevent Windows updates and service packs from installing.
# Try to install the service pack now. If you are still getting the same Installation was not successful error follow method 2.
Method 2:
1. Close all programs, and then restart your computer.
2. After restarting, turn off all antivirus and antispyware programs that might run during the startup process.
