How Enable/Disable Opera Turbo Mode
Posted September 2, 2009 – 5:54 pm in: OperaThe all new Opera 10 browser sports a unique new feature named “Turbo mode”, which is very useful for slow or dialup internet connection users. Opera Turbo mode uses data and image compression technologies to speed up the page load speed, there by increasing your overall browsing speed as well.
According to Opera site, Opera Turbo is a server-side optimization and compression technology that speeds up data transfer and reduces the amount of data that needs to be downloaded in order to view the page by up to 80%.
To use the Turbo mode you need to have installed Opera 10 desktop browser (download Opera 10). To enable Opera 10 Turbo Mode follow the instructions given below:
1. Run the Opera 10 browser.
2. Click on the Opera Turbo Mode button located at the left of the status bar (bottom left) and select Configure Opera Turbo option to see Opera Turbo Settings dialog box.
3. Opera Turbo offers three types of settings:
Automatic – Enable Opera Turbo only when a slow network is detected
On- Optimize pages with Opera Turbo so they load faster on slow networks
Off- Load pages normally
Select the appropriate option and click OK button to save the settings.
Note that you can also click on the status bar Turbo button to enable/disable the Opera Turbo Mode.
