Every time system crashes Windows creates a memory dump file in the system root. Although memory dump file helps you know diagnose the source of the problem and helps to fix it. Most users don’t know/use this feature of Vista as this dump memory file will not give the clear picture of the problem. So, it will be a good idea to turn off this feature unless it’s being used. Also you can save a small amount of system resource and space.
How to implement:
1. Right click on Computer icon and select Properties (You can always use [Win] + [Pause/Break] combination).
2. In the left pane, click on Advanced system settings option.
3. Click Continue for the UAC prompt.
4. Click on Settings button under Startup and Recovery option.
5. From the drop down menu of Write debugging information, select none.
6. Press Apply to finish the tweak. You are done!
