Loudness Equalization is one of the good features in Vista. For example, if you are watching a movie in media player, there will be times when you can barely hear people talking yet the background music in other scenes is very loud. Loudness equalization feature prevents this problem in Vista. You can enable loudness equalization in Vista as follows:
1. Type in mmsys.cpl in the Vista start menu search box and hit enter.
2. In the Sound properties window, double click on the Speakers (icon) option.
3. Next, in the newly opened Speakers Properties window and switch to the Enhancements tab.
4. Scroll down in the box and check the option named Loudness Equalization.
5. Click Apply and close the window.
6. That’s it.
