If you have installed Windows Vista in dual boot with XP, and don’t like to use XP for few days, here is a great tip to get rid of boot selection screen.
That is, you need not to select between Vista and XP when you turn on your PC. However, this tip applies to both Windows 7 and Vista systems. You can also read our “How to speed up Windows Boot” guide for more information.
Below are the instructions to follow:
1. Right click on Computer>Properties or press [Windows] + [Pause/Break] or type in “sysdm.cpl” (without quotes) in Start menu search box or in Run dialog box and hit enter.
2. Next, in the left pane click on Advanced System Settings.
3. Select Settings under Startup and Recovery box.

4. Here, select Windows Vista as the “Default operating system”.
5. Uncheck the box named “Time to display list of operating systems” and click Apply.

6. Reboot your computer and see the magic!
Note: You can also decrease the “Time to display list of operating system” if you don’t want to remove Boot selection screen.
