How To Hide/Unhide A File Or Folder In Windows 7

This is another simple trick for novice Windows 7 users. Like the previous versions of Windows, Windows 7 too comes with hide/show a file or folder option. Using this option, one can easily hide a file or folder in a jiffy.

The procedure to hide a file or folder is very straightforward:

1. Right-click on the file/folder and select Properties.

2. Enable the checkbox named Hidden and click Apply button to hide the file instantly.

If the file or folder still appears in the explorer, you need to follow four more simple steps:

# Open Windows explorer (open a folder).

 

# Click on Organize button and then select Folder and search options to launch Folder Options.

# In the Folder Options dialog-box, switch to View tab, and then locate the option named Don’t show hidden files, folders, or drives.

# Select the option and click Apply.

    Right… but what if the person you want to hide it from knows this trick, and know how to make hidden folders shown again?

    Thanks, had these download files that just came in the way all the time, also great to hide files you don’t want others to see.

    Say you have hidden a file and the others who use your PC also knows this trick then there is a way to completely make the folder disappear in windows.

    I tried it out previously will let you know shortly.

    no, after this step

    still can not able to hide folder at all :(

    What a crock of shit… I am tryin to protect my folder from someone who is not a complete idiot (but then that rules out 99.9 % of windows users).
