How To Remove Personal Info From A File In Vista & 7?
Posted December 2, 2008 – 5:58 pm in: Vista Tweaks, Windows 7, Windows 7 GuidesAnother small tweak & information about Windows Vista. Whenever you create a file Vista inserts some information like date created, Owner of the file, modified date, computer name etc. Of course, this is really a good one if you would like to see the file information later but at the same time it might be a security risk.
But, what if you don’t like to have personal information because of security problems? Yes, there is a simple way in Vista to remove all these attached information from any file. This removes all your personal information from a particular file in vista.
# Right click on the particular file from which you want to remove your personal information and select properties.

# Next, switch to “Details” tab and click on the option named “Remove Properties and Personal information” to get “Remove Properties” Window.

# Here you can select any information from a list of information and then select “Ok”. You can even remove all the displayed information by selecting “select all” option.
You can even backup all the properties and personal information before removing all the file information. Use “Create a copy with all possible properties removed” option to backup your file information.
