Posted February 1, 2010 – 7:37 pm in: Windows 7 TweaksOne of our reader has asked how to remove the username that appears at the top right of the Start menu in Windows 7? The solution is simple.
The username that appears in the Start menu is a link to your personal folder, which again provides quick access to your documents, contacts, videos, music and picture folders. If you don’t like to see your username in the Start menu you can disable it by following the procedure given below:
1. Right-click on the Start menu and then select Properties.
2. In the Start menu tab, click Customize button to launch Customize Start Menu dialog-box.
3. Here locate the option named “Personal folder” and then set it as “Don’t display this item”.
4. Click Ok and then click Apply button to remove your username from the Windows 7 Start menu.
5. Done!
