How To Reset Internet Explorer Settings
Posted November 27, 2009 – 5:46 pm in: IEThere are several free tools available to troubleshoot Internet Explorer issues. But before trying those utilities you can manually try to fix the problem by resetting Internet Explorer settings.
By resetting Internet Explorer settings, you return Internet Explorer to the state it was in when it was first installed on your computer. Reset option disables toolbars and add-ons, default web browser settings, security settings, privacy settings, advanced options, tabbed browsing settings, and pop-up settings.
Here is how you can reset Internet Explorer settings:
1. Run Internet Explorer.
2. Go to Tools and then click on Internet Options (or, use Alt + T + O to launch Internet Options quickly).
3. Move to Advanced tab.
4. Under Advanced tab, click on the Reset button to see the confirmation dialog box. If you want to delete personal settings such as temporary internet files, cookies, web form information, passwords, & history, check the box named Delete personal settings.
5. Again, click on the Reset button to reset your Internet Explorer settings to the default settings.
