How To Restore Windows 7 Start Menu Default Settings
Posted October 30, 2009 – 2:37 pm in: Windows 7 TweaksAs there are several options to tweak the start menu in Windows 7, you might like to customize the Start menu according to your need. While customizing the Start menu, at any point, if you want to revert to default settings, here is how to do it.
To restore Start menu to default settings:
# Right-click on the Taskbar and select Properties. Or go to Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Taskbar and Start menu.
# In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box, switch to Start Menu tab and then click Customize button to open Customize Start Menu dialog box.
# In the dialog box, click on Use Default Settings button to revert to default settings.
# Click Ok to save your changes.
Note that this will also reset number of recent program to display in Start menu and also number of recent items to display in Jump Lists to default.
