How To Set A Webpage As Your Active Desktop Background (Wallpaper)
Posted March 23, 2009 – 5:06 pm in: XP TweaksFew days back, I showed you how to search any web site right within Windows 7 explorer, and also how to search any site within internet Explorer itself. Let’s learn how to set a website as desktop background (wallpaper) in Windows XP.
Yes, unfortunately this tweak works only in Windows XP operating system and we can’t do the same in Windows Vista & 7 due to some restrictions. If you are running Windows XP, follow the procedure below to set any webpage as your desktop background.
Once you are done, you should be able to browse the site effortlessly.
1. Open Notepad application.
2. Type in the below code in the opened Notepad. Replace intowindows.com with your favorite site (if any!).
3. Next, save the file with extension .html (ex: intowindows.html) on the desktop.
4. Right-click on Desktop > Properties > Desktop > Browse and open the saved page.
5. Now read your favorite site without opening the browser. Enjoy!
