It’s a well known fact that Internet Explorer 8 can be removed or uninstalled in the latest build of Windows 7 (Build 7057), unlike Windows 7 beta & Vista. Using “How to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Vista” guide, you will be able to remove or uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Vista manually.

If you don’t wish to do it manually, here is a small tool from Microsoft Fixit that helps you uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Windows automatically.

1. Download and run the program.

Internet Explorer Uninstaller

2. Reboot your system.

3. Now, you should see the older version of Internet Explorer (IE6, or IE7). If Internet Explorer 8 is not removed, or you cannot open Internet Explorer 6 or 7, you need to follow my “How to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Vista” guide.

However, note that you cannot uninstall Internet Explorer 8 if it is set as not removable. This occurs if you install Internet Explorer 8 before you install Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows XP.
