How To Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) Automatically In Vista & XP
Posted March 24, 2009 – 9:41 am in: IE, Vista Tweaks, XP TweaksIt’s a well known fact that Internet Explorer 8 can be removed or uninstalled in the latest build of Windows 7 (Build 7057), unlike Windows 7 beta & Vista. Using “How to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Vista” guide, you will be able to remove or uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Vista manually.
If you don’t wish to do it manually, here is a small tool from Microsoft Fixit that helps you uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Windows automatically.
1. Download and run the program.
2. Reboot your system.
3. Now, you should see the older version of Internet Explorer (IE6, or IE7). If Internet Explorer 8 is not removed, or you cannot open Internet Explorer 6 or 7, you need to follow my “How to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Vista” guide.
However, note that you cannot uninstall Internet Explorer 8 if it is set as not removable. This occurs if you install Internet Explorer 8 before you install Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows XP.
