The first obvious thing to say about Internet Explorer 8 is that it’s good but not as good as Mozilla Firefox. If you have already installed the latest Internet Explorer 8 on your Vista, you might have noticed that it’s just another version of Internet Explorer with a few changes and features.

Internet Explorer 8

Most of the power Windows users are not happy with the Internet Explorer 8. Though Microsoft incorporated many new features, these features are not enough to revert from Mozilla Firefox browser. Unfortunately, you can’t uninstall the Internet Explorer directly in Vista. In order to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 from Vista, you need to follow steps given below.

1. Type appwiz.cpl in Start menu search filed and hit enter to get Programs and Features window.

2.When the Programs and Features window opens, in the task pane on the left, click on the link named View installed updates.

3. Next, locate the update labeled Internet Explorer 8.

4. Right-click on Internet Explorer 8 entry and select uninstall. Follow the onscreen procedure to uninstall Internet Explorer 8.

5. Done!

That is not true from my point of view.
I am running Windows Vista Business 64-bit and installed IE 8 Final on its release day.
Fore some reason, since then the Vista sidebar clock widget permanently used 50% of my CPU power and all the widgets had strange colored borders.
This was the reason why I decided to uninstall IE 8 and though it took me some searching it is possible to do that natively with Vista.
To do so, follow these steps:
Open Computer – Uninstall / Change Software (or what it is called in English) – Show Installed Updates – look for “Internet Explorer 8″ and choose uninstall.
This even works if you haven’t downloaded it with Windows Update but manually like I did.
At least that is my own experience.
After uninstalling and a reboot you find yourself back with IE 7.

This was so simple! I tried only in the remove programs and not in the Installed Updates section.

    Thanks!!!
