I am running Windows Vista Business 64-bit and installed IE 8 Final on its release day. Fore some reason, since then the Vista sidebar clock widget permanently used 50% of my CPU power and all the widgets had strange colored borders. This was the reason why I decided to uninstall IE 8 and though it took me some searching it is possible to do that natively with Vista. To do so, follow these steps: Open Computer - Uninstall / Change Software (or what it is called in English) - Show Installed Updates - look for "Internet Explorer 8" and choose uninstall. This even works if you haven't downloaded it with Windows Update but manually like I did. At least that is my own experience. After uninstalling and a reboot you find yourself back with IE 7. That is not true from my point of view.
