Manage Firefox Download Locations With ‘Automatic Save Folder’ Add-on
Posted February 12, 2009 – 6:08 pm in: FirefoxMost of us don’t use any download manager software to download small applications and files. As you know, generally, Firefox asks for the destination folder to save the file before the download begins.
Download manager lets you assign any particular folder depending on the types of files. The same can be achieved in our favorite Firefox browser as well by installing a small add-on named Automatic Save Folder. That is, once you install and configure this add-on, Firefox automatically saves all the image files to Picture folder and music to Music folder or any other folder that you have previously configured.
You can also assign a folder for all file types as well. This add-on also lets you customize the download location depending on the download domain too. That is, for example, you can create a new folder and assign this new folder as destination folder for all types of files from Softpedia download site. You can repeat the same task for any domain to organize the downloading files easily and automatically.
Install Automatic Save Folder add-on from the below mentioned link, and then restart Firefox to make the add-on start working. Go to Tools > Add-ons, select Automatic Save Folder, and then click Options to start configure the download locations.
Hit the “+” sign and type your desired domain name, file type and destination folder. You can also select different folder for different file types.
