Microsoft Releases LifeCam Metro App For Windows 8

Microsoft has started updating Windows 8 Store with some wonderful Metro style apps. Last week, we reported about sMedio True Link+ app, a powerful multimedia player that lets you play various audio, video, and picture formats. This week we have another nice app to share with you.

 

LifeCam is a Windows 8 exclusive app from Microsoft. LifeCam is a free app and lets you video chat with friends and family, capture photos and videos, enhance your images by adding special effects and fun. The app comes in handy for users who have paired up a Microsoft LifeCam webcam with desktop or notebook/netbook users would like to use the native Camera app in Windows 8.

According to the Store, LifeCam app requires Microsoft LifeCam Studio, Cinema, HD-5000, HD-5001, HD 3000, or HD-6000 for notebooks webcams. So, if you aren’t using any of the above mentioned webcams, you mayn’t be able to use all the features of the app.

 

To add a special effect to your videos, tap or click on the effect that you want to add and to remove the effect, tap or click selected effect again.
