Microsoft Releases One Critical & Two Important Updates For Windows
Posted March 11, 2009 – 7:37 am in: Software UpdatesAs expected, Microsoft has issued three security bulletins as part of their Tuesday update. In this update, Microsoft has addressed eight vulnerabilities, two important and a critical one that allows an attacker to remotely compromise a Windows-based system that uses GDI+ and gain control over it.

MS09-006 – addresses a vulnerability in Microsoft Windows (KB 958690)
MS09-007 – addresses a vulnerability in Microsoft Windows (KB 960225)
MS09-008 – addresses a vulnerability in Microsoft Windows Server (KB 962238)
KB 958690 (Critical): This security update resolves several privately reported vulnerabilities in the Windows kernel.
KB 962238 (Important): This security update resolves two privately reported vulnerabilities and two publicly disclosed vulnerabilities in Windows DNS server and Windows WINS server. These vulnerabilities could allow a remote attacker to redirect network traffic intended for systems on the Internet to the attacker’s own systems.
KB 960025(Important): This security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in the Secure Channel (SChannel) security package in Windows.
