Microsoft To Release Critical Update On Tuesday
Posted May 8, 2009 – 12:14 pm in: Microsoft OfficeMicrosoft is preparing to release an update for Office PowerPoint 2000, 2002, 2003 & 2007 on Tuesday, May 12. Rated as critical, this update will fix a month old bug that developers admitted they missed during stress testing.
This is the second time Microsoft is releasing only one update for patch Tuesday, in 2009. The last time Microsoft issued only one update on a patch Tuesday was in January.
The following Office PowerPoint versions will be affected by Tuesday’s patch:
* PowerPoint 2000
* PowerPoint 2002
* PowerPoint 2003
* PowerPoint 2007
Note that 2007 version of PowerPoint does not contain the vulnerability, but will merely be a bug fix.
