Microsoft To Release Free Antivirus “Morro” Soon
Posted June 11, 2009 – 5:52 pm in: NewsMicrosoft is all set to release a free antivirus substitute, codenamed "Morro", for its discontinued Live OneCare. The Microsoft Corporation has not revealed much information on its free antivirus Morro, but it’s believed that the Morro will clinch enough market shares from Symantec and McAfee.
Live OneCare was a paid computer security and enhancement tool for Windows. Live OneCare was released back in 2006 and discontinued in 2008.
The “Morro” is expected to come with only basic level protection. It will not have features like firewall, encryption and parental control.
