Mosaic: Windows 8 Metro UI Gadgets With Live Tiles For Windows 7
Posted June 26, 2011 – 3:15 pm in: FreewareThese days Windows enthusiasts have been busy in creating Metro UI based applications and themes for Windows 7. We have seen Windows 8 Metro Start screen for Windows 7, Metro UI skin for Yahoo, Metro UI home page for Firefox, etc.
The developers of the well known Metro Home gadget have renamed it as Mosaic and it now sports Windows 8 Metro UI live tiles. It’s a set of live widgets that show some content from the web or from your PC. The Mosaic is still in alpha stage.
When Mosaic is running, move the mouse cursor the right border of the screen and click to see the Mosaic menu. Mosaic menu lets you add new widgets and also allows you change some basic settings. The current alpha version lets you add Clock, Control Panel, Gmail, Pictures, Videos and Weather gadgets to your desktop.
Please note that it requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 and works only in Windows 7 (x86 and x64).
