Stop Expiration Of Password In Vista

This happens only in Vista Business and Ultimate versions. If you have set a password for your Vista, it will be expired after 42days. Microsoft might have kept this for security reasons, but this is really annoying for some people. Though, Vista warns you about the expiration of password 14 days in advance, it’s a good idea to stop this feature to use the same password for a long time.

How to stop or alter:

1.In the Start Menu Search box, type in “secpol.msc” and hit enter.
2.Click “Continue” for User Account Prompt(UAC) prompt.
3.In the left side pane of the “Local Security Policy” window, expand the folder named “Account Polices” by clicking the arrow button.
4.Now, select(click) on “Password Policy” folder.
5.In the right pane, locate the option named “Maximum password age”.
6.Right click on “Maximum password age” and select “Properties”.
7.In the newly opened window, Change the value of “Password will expire in” option to “0″(of course, without quotes) to disable this feature. Alternatively, you can also change this value between “0″ to”999″ according to your requirement.
8.Click “Apply” to change the setting.
9.Enjoy!!
