Turn Your Desktop Into Nokia Lumia 800 Phone
Posted December 22, 2011 – 4:56 pm in: Windows 7 Guides, Windows 8 GuidesUnless you’ve just awoken from a coma, you’re probably aware that the Nokia Lumia 800 phone is available in all leading markets now. The stylish design and Windows Phone 7.5 OS make it the best Windows Phone in the market.
Users who are bored with their default Windows desktop and like the Lumia 800 phone design and Windows Phone OS can now easily transform their desktop into Lumia 800 phone without installing any transformation packs. You just need to install and configure a few software and skins to make this happen.
Rainmeter, Omnimo skin for Rainmeter, Elegant Clock skin for Rainmeter, Startdock ObjectDock, and Nokia Lumia 800 wallpaper and Windows metro-style icons are the few things that you will need.
Procedure:
Step 1: Download Nokia Lumia wallpaper zip file from here, extract the archive and set Lumia wallpaper as your desktop background.
Step 2: Download and install Rainmeter software. As you may know, it’s a free desktop customization software and supports XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 as well.
Step 3: Next, step is to download and install the popular Omnimo skin for Rainmeter. Omnimo skin helps you add Windows 8 and Windows Phone 7 metro UI touch to your desktop (see Windows 8 Start screen for Windows 7). While installing the skin, make sure that you select blank theme, appropriate style and color. Once done, add tiles to the desktop as shown in the preview picture.
Step 4: To add a metro-style clock to your desktop, download and install Elegant clock skin. Once installed, right-click on Rainmeter icon in notification area and enable the new skin.
Step 5: If you would like to see a small dock, just like in the preview image above, you need to download and install Startdock ObjectDock program. You can download Metro-style icons from here.
