Vista Tweaker – Another Good Vista Tweaking Utility
Posted March 2, 2009 – 12:15 pm in: Freeware, SoftwaresVista Tweaker is a free tweaking utility for Vista. Vista Tweaker lets you control and tweak over 100 Windows settings that can be done only through Windows Registry usually.
This standalone program is just 300KB in size. While other tweaking tools can be tricky to use, Vista Tweaker has a clean and simple interface to tweak the option you need. This tweaking utility comes with seven categories: System, Windows UI, Internet Explorer, Software, Network, Performance, and Miscellaneous.
Hovering the mouse over an option displays a brief description about the particular tweak. Some of the really cool features are below.
* Disable UAC
* Prevent Admin account prompts
* Don’t display Username at logon: Hides the username in the logon window screen. You need to type in the username and password every time you want to logon.
* Enable Verbose Mode: Enabling verbose mode will display what Windows is doing when logging on/off.
* Directory List file extension: With this entry, you will get a folder listing opened in notepad automatically.
* Disable online lookup for unknown file extensions
* Set kill service timeout & application timeout
* Modify User and OEM information
The program works fine on both Windows XP & Vista. Also there are quite a few options that work for Windows 7.
