Windows 7 Official Release Date Is October 22

Finally, Microsoft confirmed that Windows 7 to hit retail shelves and start showing up on new PCs worldwide on Thursday, October 22. Steve Guggenheimer, Microsoft Corporate Vice President for OEMs, confirmed that Windows 7 general availability will began on October 22.
Last month, Acer had announced that Windows 7 would be available on Acer machines from October 23. Note that users who buy PCs with Windows Vista starting from June 28th will get a free Windows 7 upgrade option.
