Windows 7 RTM In August
Posted May 13, 2009 – 10:53 am in: Windows 7Windows 7 team blog has once again talked about Windows 7 release date. Now, Windows team blog informs that Windows 7 RTM (Release to Manufacturing) will be ready by mid-August, three months from now.
According to Brandon LeBlanc, Microsoft’s in-house Windows blogger, “the telemetry we receive from the Windows 7 RC meets our expectations in terms of quality, then we expect to hit RTM in 3 months or so”.
It seems that Windows 7 general availability would be done by September or October, as far as these statements are concerned.
Bill Veghte , Microsoft Senior Vice President for the Windows Business, on Monday said that Windows 7 will be available by holiday season. Earlier this month, Acer UK MD had announced that Windows 7 will be available on Acer machines starting from October 23.
