Windows 7, Vista & XP Benchmark Results
Posted November 13, 2008 – 12:35 pm in: News, Windows 7[ad#ad-1]
Microsoft’s newly (pre)released Windows 7 may correct some of the annoying things of Vista, but the first round of tests by Lifehacker indicate a small boost in boot performance. We have seen the boot drag race of Windows 7 and Vista, were Windows 7 was a clear winner. We had no clue about the specification of the system Microsoft used to get the boot drag test.

Lifehacker, one of the top Technology sites, had also conducted a benchmark test of Windows 7(6801), Vista (SP1) and XP (SP3) recently. The machine used for the benchmark was packed with Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 3.16 GHz with 4GB of Ram. Windows 7, Vista and XP were installed on the same, physical SATA drive.
Benchmark results:

Conclusion: Overall Windows 7 was the winner. Though, there is a small performance difference between Windows 7 and Vista, I am really happy with the test results considering the two facts: (a).Windows 7 is still in pre-beta stage and (b) Vista has already got a service pack. So, what’s your opinion?
Thanks Lifehacker
