Windows 8 Aero Lite Theme For Windows 7

If you are Windows enthusiast, or have at least been following IntoWindows closely for the past few months, you are likely aware of the fact that the latest Windows 8 operating system includes a new visual style named Aero Lite (also known as Windows Basic Aero). As the name suggests, the Aero Lite theme is very low on system resources.

Aero Lite theme in Windows 8 features Metro style caption buttons (minimize, maximize and close),  flat buttons in explorer and dialogs, and many other small changes. Now, if you love the Aero Lite theme and would like to get the Aero Lite visual style in Windows 7 as well, here is a nice visual style from a deviantart member to get the Windows 8  visual style in Windows 7.

 

By installing Aero Lite theme in Windows 7 OS, you get new taskbar style, Metro style caption buttons and scroll bar.

 

 

Here is how to install and apply the Aero Lite theme in Windows 7:

 

Step 1: Before you download the visual style, make sure that you have enabled third-party themes support in Windows 7. To do that, you need to download and install UxTheme Patcher software. You may need to restart your PC after installing the same.

 

Step 2: Download the Aero Lite pack from here and extract the contents to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes folder.

 

Step 3: Double-click on .theme file to apply the new visual style. If everything goes fine, you should now see the Aero Lite theme.
