Yahoo! has just released Axis web browser app for iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) and also Axis extension for popular desktop browsers such as Apple Safari, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome running on both Windows and Mac.
While Yahoo! Axis for iPhone and iPad is a feature-rich browser with a nice and easy-to-use user interface and the desktop version of Axis isn’t an actual browser and works as an extension.
Computer users can download and install the plugin for their Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome browsers. Once installed, a small search box will appear in the lower left corner of the browser window to help you quickly search the web. When you enter a search keyword Yahoo! Axis presents you the search results on the right hand side in the form of thumbnails, which gives you a preview of webpages before clicking on them. The extension looks useful for users who are running Windows 8 on a tablet or touch screen device.
By signing in using the Yahoo! account, one can automatically sync bookmarks, visited sites and searches across computer, iPhone, and iPad.
It seems that the extension slows down desktop browsers a bit. We suggest you install the browser extension only if you are an iOS device user and have plans to use Axis on your device. Visit the download page to know more the product and download the extension.
