Not too long ago, we covered about an unofficial YouTube app called MetroTube to search and watch videos in Windows 10 without having to open your web browser. This time around, we have a cool app to search and watch videos from the world’s second largest video sharing site Dailymotion.
Dailymotion app for Windows 10
As we all know, Dailymotion is the second largest video-sharing site in the world after the popular YouTube owned by Google. The founders of Dailymotion have recently released an official app for Microsoft’s latest Windows 10 operating system and is now available from the Store.
The current version of the official app is pretty good and comes with an easy-to-use interface. Unlike other similar apps, Dailymotion lets you open the Search charm by just clicking on the search button located on the upper right-hand of the screen. So, you can search for videos by pressing the search button and then entering the search keyword in the box.
Upon launching the app, you will see videos under featured, music, funny, film & TV, and news categories. Click or tap a video tile to start watching the video. The now playing screen displays total number of views, uploaded date, total videos uploaded by the uploader, and also related videos on the right of the screen. Hover the mouse cursor over the video to see play/pause, audio, full screen, and exit full screen controls.
Click or tap the back arrow located on the upper left to revert to the previous screen. To visit the home screen, right-click anywhere on the app and then click or tap Home button.
