Kaspersky Antivirus and Internet Security solutions for the Windows operating system have been consistently performing high in independent tests for years. Independent tests show that Kaspersky products detect more samples than their competitors.
Kaspersky Lab offers several free and paid software for the Windows operating system. About a year ago, Kaspersky released a free antivirus called Kaspersky Antivirus Free for Windows OS. Kaspersky Free is one of the many basic antivirus software out there for Windows OS.
This time around, Kaspersky has released another free antivirus software called Kaspersky Security Cloud Free.
Kaspersky Security Cloud Free uses adaptive technologies to keep your PC safe from threats, says Kaspersky Lab. The basic free version protects you from viruses only but should be good enough for many users.
The user interface is quite similar to that of the Kaspersky Antivirus and Internet Security.
Note that there are paid versions of Kaspersky Cloud as well. You can get additional features by upgrading to either Kaspersky Security Cloud Personal or Family editions. Paid editions offer home Wi-Fi monitoring, protection for your online shopping payments and banking, password manager, VPN and more.
The catch is that you will need to create a Kaspersky account (if you don’t have one) and sign in to the same to use the Kaspersky Security Cloud and its adaptive features.
Kaspersky Security Cloud Free is fully compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 8/8.1. It, however, is not compatible with Windows 7.
