With less than a week left for the official launch of Windows 10, tens of millions of PC users who have registered for the free upgrade are preparing their Windows 7/8.1 installations to upgrade to the newest version of the Windows operating system.
Windows 10 final build (10240)
Although there is no official information from Microsoft about the build number of Windows 10 RTM or final, it’s believed that the build 10240 is the RTM build of Windows 10, and the same build has been released to the Windows Insider program users a couple of days ago via Windows Update.
Many PC users who have registered for the free upgrade want to try out the RTM build before making the final call on July 29th but don’t want to download the ISO copy from unofficial sources.
If you are one of those users who can’t wait for the official launch of Windows 10 and want to try out Windows 10 RTM build right now, you can now download the ESD copy of Windows 10 RTM build 10240 right from Microsoft.
Convert ESD to ISO
Yes, Windows 10 RTM build 10240 ESD files are now available to download from Microsoft servers. To get Windows 10 RTM ISO image file, you need to first download the ESD file and then convert the same to ISO using instructions mentioned in our how to convert ESD to ISO or create Windows 10 ISO from ESD file guide.
Note that Microsoft might remove these ESD files at any time. So download it when it’s available.
That said, please note that you might not be able to activate Windows 10 till the 29th of July by entering a product key.
