EaseUS, the company known for data recovery and backup software, has just updated its CleanGenius Free software and it now supports Windows as well. CleanGenius was initially released for Mac and the current version is compatible with Windows operating system as well.
As the name suggests, CleanGenius helps you clean up and boost your overall Windows speed by deleting junk files and uninstalling unwanted programs. The program comes with a cool interface, which provides easy access different utilities packed in the software.
The free version of CleanGenius lets you optimize your computer’s speed. It includes startup manager to control processes that start with Windows, disk defragment tool to defrag your hard drives, uninstall manager to effectively uninstall unwanted programs, disk cleaner to remove junk files and folders, file shredder to permanently delete sensitive data, and shortcut cleaner to delete invalid or broken shortcuts.
Shutdown scheduler, process manager, file splitter, and unlock tools. One can configure CleanGenius to start the optimization process at a specified time or when the system is idle.
Users need to upgrade to the paid version to get advanced features such as driver backup, context menu fixer, registry defrag, registry cleaner, clean up instant messaging history, and clean up social networking sites history.
While EaseUS has stopped developing CleanGenius and has not updated the software for a while now, it does work great without any issues. In addition to Windows 10, it is compatible with Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, and Windows XP operating systems.
Overall, it’s a decent program to clean and optimize Windows. As the free version lacks features present in other similar free programs, users who need a free, powerful software can check out CCleaner or IObit Toolbox utilities.
The current version doesn’t include any browser toolbar and doesn’t attempt to alter your browser settings. So, you can safely install the program and try it out. You might also like to download EaseUS TodoBackup for Windows 10, the best free backup software available for Windows now.
