Not too long ago, we featured a program called Start Menu Organizer for XP, Vista and Windows 7 to neatly organize native Windows programs and installed applications available in Start menu. As the program was originally developed for XP, some features were not working fine in Windows 7.
So, toady, we are going to share an excellent freeware that has been developed to organize Windows 7 start menu. Winstep Start Menu Organizer is a free tool organize and clean Start menu.
The user interface simple and easy-to-use. With this tool, you can add or remove a Start menu item from one category to other by dragging and dropping. You can also right-click on a program and select Add to category option to change the category of an item. By default you can see all uncategorized Start menu items in the extreme right panel.
Finally, the tool also lets you backup the current start of Start menu so that you can restore it any time using the restore feature.
Please note that you can’t add, delete and rename the existing ten categories in the free version. If you want to get additional features, you need to go for the pro version. But we must say that the free version is good enough for most of Windows 7 users. Also read how to manually organize Windows 7 Start menu.
