Less than two months after the release of first Release Preview build of Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2, Microsoft has just released the RTM version of Internet Explorer 11 and is now available for download. PC users running Windows 7 with SP1 and Server 2008 R2 (x64) can now download newest version of Microsoft’s web browser.
As with the case of IE11 Developer Preview, which was released in July this year, offers improved performance, new F12 developer tools, and faster page load times. As you probably know, unlike Internet Explorer for Windows 8, Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 doesn’t come with the Modern UI version of the browser.
According to the official Internet Explorer blog, there are several differences between Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7. That is, Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7 doesn’t include all the features of IE11 on Windows 8.1. Features such as device orientation events, drag and drop touch support, hover touch support, pinned site enhancements, scrolling and zooming with touch and other inputs, and high DPI support are not available in IE11 for Windows 7.
As some of you know, Internet Explorer 11 ships with Windows 8.1. The blog also notes that it’s 30% faster than other browsers and includes updates to support the latest Web standards and developer tools improvements.
While you can effortlessly install this on your Windows 7 machine , you might prefer to test drive the new browser without installing the same.
