Last weekend, I performed a clean install of Windows 10 on my laptop using a bootable USB drive. After completing Windows 10’s installation, I installed a bunch of free software, including a free antivirus software, before beginning to use the laptop for my work.
While installing free applications, I noticed that many of the popular free applications are not exactly free anymore. Most of them try to install browser toolbars and other crapwere during the installation.
We need to be extra careful while installing free applications these days. One thing most of the free programs offer in common is browser toolbar. For instance, a popular free antivirus offers you install AVG Toolbar, which is fairly difficult to uninstall.
Although we can manually uninstall toolbars and plugins from web browsers, it’s quite difficult to completely uninstall some of them. Take, for instance, the Bing and Google toolbars can be easily uninstalled but uninstalling toolbars like Babylon search is a tedious job without the help of third-party tools.

Even though Toolbar Cleaner sports a simple interface and is designed to remove unwanted toolbars and extensions from browsers, the program itself tries to change default homepage of your browsers during the product installation.
