One of the visible changes in the recently released Windows 8 Developer Preview build is the new visual style. Microsoft has tweaked the window border frames and caption buttons (close, minimize and maximize buttons) of Aero visual style in the Developer Preview of Windows 8.
If you are on Windows 7 and want to give it the touch of Windows 8, then here is the Windows 8 Developer Preview (WDP) visual style for Windows 7. A deviantart member, fediaFedia, has quickly developed a simple visual style for Windows 7 which imitates the Windows 8 Aero visual style.
How to install Windows 8 Developer Preview visual style in Windows 7:
Step 1: Download the Windows 8 visual style zip file from here. Extract the zip file contents to desktop or any other location to get three folders.
Step 2: As you probably know, by default, Windows 7 doesn’t allow you install third-party themes. Open Universal Theme Patcher folder and run UniversalThemePatcher.exe file to patch the uxtheme file.
Step 3: Once done, open Theme for Windows 7 folder and copy everything from the folder to C:\Windows\resources\themes folder. Double-click on aero8.theme file to apply the new visual style.
