About six months ago, we first published a detailed guide to get the all-new Windows 8 Ribbon Explorer in Windows XP with the help of a skin for Styler. Later, in last October, we featured a small tool named Better Explorer to get Ribbon Explorer in Windows 7 as well.
Today, we are here to share another Styler skin pack that aims to bring Windows 8 Explorer Ribbon to your Windows XP Explorer. PeterRoller, a deviantart member, has created and shared two ribbon skins for Styler. As you can see in the below picture, both skins are simply perfect.
XP users who like Windows 8’s new Ribbon Explorer can follow the steps given below to enable the Explorer Ribbon in Windows XP as well.
Step 1: Download the Styler toolbar from here and then run the setup file to install it.
Step 2: Next, download the Ribbon Explorer skin zip file from here. The file contains three folders named BorderSkin DP, Styler toolbars and Segoeui folders. The Styler Toolbars folder contains skins for the Styler. Open Styler toolbars folder to see Maximize the ribbon and Minimize the ribbon folders.
Copy Maximize the ribbon and Minimize the ribbon folders to:
C:\Program Files\Styler\TB\skins\Styler’s folder.
(Here, “C” is your Windows XP installation drive)
Step 3: Open Windows Explorer, right-click on toolbar, and enable Styler toolbar. Finally, select Maximize the ribbon or minimize the ribbon skin to enable the ribbon explorer in Windows XP.
Step 4: After selecting the new skin, don’t forget to disable Links, Address Bar, and Standard buttons. To do this, navigate to View > Toolbars and then disable Address Bar, Standard buttons and Links.
