Auslogics, the company well-known for its Disk Defrag software has just released a new software to help users backup data. BitReplica is a freeware and lets you backup your documents, photos, music, and any other data stored on your PC.

Compatible with all major versions of Windows, it sports a simple user interface and packs-in useful features to help you protect your data. Scheduled backup, multiple backup profiles, full, incremental, and differential backup, file synchronization, multi-volume archiving, and extended restore options are the core features.

The backup profile stores backup settings such as file and folders to be included in the backup, backup location, backup type (simple copy, sync backup, full backup, incremental backup, or differential backup), and some advanced options. Options to backup alternate data streams and verify files after copying to destination are available as well.

An interesting feature available in the software enables you automatically run third-party programs before initiating the backup process. The feature comes in handy for users who would like to clean up all junk files using CCleaner to save disk space or if you want to run your favourite disk defrag software before launching the full backup. BitReplica waits for the third-party program to complete its business and then starts backing up your files.

BitReplica supports hard disk drives, solid state drives, USB flash drives, and networked drives. Setting up the program is fairly simple if you have used any other backup software in the days gone by. Run the application, create a backup profile, add files and folders that you wish to backup, and click backup button to start backing up selected files and folders.

All-in-all, it’s a good software with basic set of features. The current version of the software lacks disk & partition clone feature but includes differential backup function, which is not available in many popular software including the free version of EaseUS Todo Backup.

Current version (2.1) of BitReplica supports Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, both x86 and x64 systems. We tested it on Windows 10 (64-bit) and can confirm that it works on Windows 10 as well.

Redo Backup is another excellent backup software for Windows.
