GarageBand is a well-established name in music production. It allows you to compose your own music or song right on your device.

Apple’s GarageBand software is one of the key reasons most music producers buy Macs over PCs. GarageBand offers advanced features, is easy to use, and, most importantly, is completely free.

Is GarageBand available for Windows 10/11?

GarageBand by Apple is a free music composition app available on Macs, iPhones, and iPads. This means that the GarageBand app is not officially available for the Windows operating system.

Is there a workaround to download and install GarageBand on Windows 10/11 PC?

As said earlier, Apple does not offer GarageBand for the Windows operating system. So, there is no official way to install GarageBand on Windows 10/11 PCs.

Speaking about the workaround, the only possible way to get GarageBand on a PC running Windows 10/11 is to install macOS in a virtual machine and then install the GarageBand software from the Apple App Store.

That said, we do not recommend installing macOS in a virtual machine, as it is designed and developed to run only on Mac computers.

Installing and running macOS outside the Mac might also be illegal. Additionally, all the functions and features of macOS might not work when installed on a virtual machine on a PC.

So, it’s best to avoid installing macOS on Windows 10/11 PCs with the help of virtual machines.

Alternatives to GarageBand on Windows 10/11 PC

The best way to get GarageBand on your Windows 10/11 PC is to install one of the GarageBand alternatives! Yes, there are many free and paid alternatives to GarageBand available.

Apps like StudioOne, CakeWalk, and Waveform are some of the good alternatives available for the Windows operating system. We agree that these alternatives might not offer the same experience as GarageBand, but they are pretty good. We suggest you try these apps, and if you are not happy, you can consider buying a new or used Mac.

Last but not least, the GarageBand app is also available on iPhones and iPads. So, if you own one of them, you can use the GarageBand on your iPhone/iPad for free. You can install GarageBand from the App Store.
