Windows 11 automatically saves the Wi-Fi password when you connect your Windows 11 PC to a new Wi-Fi network by typing in the password, so that users can easily connect to the Wi-Fi network again without remembering the password.
In earlier versions of the Windows operating system, viewing the saved Wi-Fi passwords was not easy. However, in the recent versions of Windows 11, you can easily view the password of the currently connected Wi-Fi network and also share it as a QR code. But how do you view all saved Wi-Fi passwords, or how do you view passwords of a Wi-Fi network that your PC is not currently connected to?
You can use both the Settings app as well as the Command Prompt to view all saved Wi-Fi passwords in Windows 11.
Complete the directions below to view all saved Wi-Fi networks.
Method 1 of 2
Use the Settings app to view all saved Wi-Fi passwords in Windows 11
Step 1: Open the Settings app using any method.
Step 2: On the left pane, click Network & internet. Now, on the right side, click Wi-Fi to see Wi-Fi settings.
Step 3: Click Manage known networks.
Step 4: The page shows a list of all saved Wi-Fi networks. Click on the Wi-Fi network whose saved password you would like to view.
Step 5: Finally, click the Show button to view the Wi-Fi password as well as a QR code to connect to the Wi-Fi network.
Method 2 of 2
Use Command Prompt to view all saved Wi-Fi network passwords
Step 1: Open the Command Prompt as an administrator. To do that, type CMD in the Start or taskbar search to see Command Prompt in search results, right-click its entry, and then click the Run as administrator option.
Click the Yes button when you get the User Account Control prompt.
Step 2: At the Command Prompt window, type the following command to get a list of all Wi-Fi network profiles whose passwords are saved on your Windows 11 PC.
netsh wlan show profiles
Step 3: Next, type the following command to see the password of the Wi-Fi network/profile you are interested in.
netsh wlan show profile WiFiProfile key=clear
In the above command, you need to replace the WiFiProfile with the profile name of the Wi-Fi network whose password you want to view.
Step 4: Once the command is executed, the Command Prompt shows complete details about the saved Wi-Fi network, including the password. As you can see in the picture below, the Wi-Fi password can be found in the Key content field present in the Security settings section. That’s it!
