Many users who often switch between their Windows and Mac computers use Apple or Mac keyboards to work with Windows as well.
If you have also connected a Mac or Apple keyboard to a Windows 11 running computer, you might be wondering how to open the Start menu with a Mac or Apple keyboard, as it does not come with a Windows logo key.
While Apple/Mac keyboard does not include a dedicated Windows logo key, there are ways to open the Windows 11 Start menu with an Apple/Mac keyboard as well.
Method 1 of 2
Open the Windows 11 Start menu with an Apple/Mac keyboard
Step 1: On your Mac/Apple keyboard, press the Command key to open the Start menu. You can either press the right or left Command key on the keyboard to see the Start menu.
If you prefer using a keyboard to open the Windows 11 Start menu, this is the best way.
Tip: When connected to a Windows PC, the Command key on a Mac/Apple keyboard works as a Windows logo key. For instance, instead of Windows logo + E, you can use Command + E to open the File Explorer.
Method 2 of 2
Open the Windows 11 Start menu with a Mac or Apple keyboard
In addition to the Command key on the Apple or Mac keyboard, you can also use the Ctrl + Esc keys to open the Windows 11 Start menu.
That is, you need to simultaneously press Ctrl and Esc keys on your Apple or Mac keyboard to see the Windows 11 Start menu. This is not the ideal way, as you need to press two keys simultaneously. We recommend using the Command key to open the Windows 11 Start menu.
Please note that Ctrl + Esc keyboard shortcut also works on a Windows keyboard as well.
