In Windows 11, the File Explorer opens, by default, to Home (previously known as Quick Access). If you need to work with files and folders frequently, you will find the File Explorer Home handy.
With default settings, the Quick Access section in the Home folder shows your frequently accessed and pinned folders. Below it, you find the Recent, Favorites, and Shared tabs. The Recent tab obviously shows your recently opened files and recently saved files. The Favorites tab displays your pinned files, while the Shared tab shows files shared with you.
Because File Explorer opens to Home, you can quickly access your most frequently accessed and pinned folders, as well as recently opened, pinned, and shared files.
However, at times, the File Explorer Home or recent files section might open very slowly. That is, the File Explorer Home window opens, but data takes a while to load.
If you are also encountering the same, here is a quick fix to make it fast again.
Make File Explorer Home open faster again in Windows 11
Step 1: Open the File Explorer Home.
Step 2: Click the three dots in the toolbar and then click Options to open Folder Options.
Step 3: Here, switch to the View tab and then click the Reset Folders button. Click the Yes button when you see the confirmation prompt. This should fix the problem.
